The Fascia Research Society (FRS) was established as a membership organization to facilitate, encourage and support the dialogue and collaboration between clinicians, researchers and academicians, in order to further our understanding of the properties and functions of fasciae.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT
MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM
The information you enter is only shared with:
- Board members, so that we can contact members who might be interested in committee work based on their responses on this form.
- Website administrators, so they can keep the website functioning.
- Other FRS members in the member-only directory, which includes your name, areas of specialty and knowledge, location, and a contact link where you can send an email to the member but not view their email address.

MEMBERSHIP MARKETPLACE FORM
This member-only optional form allows FRS members to view and list courses, supplies, and research projects available from FRS members. The information you enter on this form is only accessible by FRS members and website administrators.
MEDIA
If you upload images to the your member profile or to the member marketplace, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Members logged in to the web site can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
COOKIES

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We do not share your data with any third parties. Names and email addresses of FRS members are subscribed to our Constant Contact newsletters which contain pertinent information for members, such as discounts, events, and fascia research news. Members can unsubscribe at any time from the newsletters. Effective May 25, 2018, we will not subscribe new or renewing members without their consent.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
Only FRS members have personal data retained on this website. All users can see and edit their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We retain FRS member data in the website database even after your membership expires unless you request that we remove it. See the next section for information about removing your data.
WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA
If you have an account on this site you can see and edit your data at any time. Also, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA
We protect your data by storing it on a hardened server at 24Shells, Inc. New Jersey data center. The server is monitored 24/7. Administrative access is highly restricted. Code patching takes place soon after reliable patches have been released. Data is backed up to a protected and closed AWS account. Data is encrypted in transit.
However, no website or Internet transmission is completely secure. If you have an account on this website, we urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe: choose a strong password and keep it private, and log out of your user account and close your web browser when you are finished and on a shared or unsecured device.
WHAT THIRD PARTIES WE RECEIVE DATA FROM
When you make a purchase at this web site, https://fasciaresearchsociety.org, the credit card transaction occurs at authorize.net. We receive confirmation information and a transaction id from them.
PAYMENTS
We accept payments for membership through Authorize.net. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Authorize.net, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
