About Our Founding Organization:
The Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation
The Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation (IPRRF) established itself as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2007 with the mission of encouraging and supporting evidence-based studies of Structural Integration’s effects, their implications for conventional and complementary health care, and the dissemination of those findings to teachers, students, practitioners, and the general public. The Rolf Institute ® of Structural Integration, now the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, generously provided initial financing and organizational talent for IPRRF. Since its inception IPRRF has been dedicated to advancing scientific inquiry into the field of Structural Integration and fostering a symbiotic relationship between science and therapeutic practice grounded in the teachings of Dr. Rolf.
In 2007 IPRRF hosted the first International Fascia Research Congress, which at that time was the only such conference dedicated to scientific research and clinical studies on fascia, and where IPRRF was first introduced. Then from 2007 through 2018, IPRRF had the primary responsibility of hosting four additional and highly successful International Fascia Research Congresses in 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018. Read more about each International Fascia Research Congress here
Along the way, in 2012, in order to focus more exclusively on education and research of Structural Integration, the IPRRF board of directors established Fascia Research Society (FRS) as one of its projects, with the goal of developing FRS into an independent organization that would eventually take full responsibility for producing the triennial International Fascia Research Congresses.
On June 1, 2020 FRS became a fully independent 501(c)3 organization and now has the sole responsibility for hosting all future International Fascia Research Congresses, including the 2022 IFRC in Montreal.
Fascia Research Society is forever grateful to the Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation for its support for so many years and continued encouragement. While FRS is no longer solely focused on Structural Integration, we continue to support research that supports it and many other therapeutic modalities. FRS is committed to bringing the very best in fascia related science to the world. For more on IPRRF visit them here
