How well do we truly understand the anatomy of the midface?
For years, the accepted anatomical model described the Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System (SMAS) of the midface without the presence of a deep fascial layer. Through 15 years of anatomical dissection, histological analysis, and surgical correlation, Dr Chiara Andretto Amodeo and her team identified a distinct deep fascial structure that is continuous with the superficial layer of the deep temporal fascia.
Today, this structure is internationally recognised as Chiaraโs Fascia and is referenced in the 43rd Edition of Grayโs Anatomy: The Anatomical Basis of Clinical Practice.
Join us for an insightful FRS webinar as Dr Andretto Amodeo shares the anatomical evidence behind this discovery and discusses its implications for facial surgery, aesthetics and future clinical applications.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in fascial anatomy to deepen your understanding of midface anatomy through the perspective of one of the fieldโs leading surgeon-scientists.ย
About Chiara Andretto Amodeo:

Discover the anatomy that is reshaping our understanding of the midface.
Chiara Andretto Amodeo and her team identified a previously undescribed deep fascial plane, continuous with the superficial layer of the deep temporal fascia, now known asย Chiaraโs Fascia.
Based on 15 years of anatomical, histological and surgical research, this discovery is changing the way we understand midface anatomy.
